Basement Remodel – Day 0

Here are the before pics of our basement.  We started yesterday on the demo.

IMG_0623 This is what you see when you enter the front door and head down the stairs.  Ian’s room and Eric’s office will be to the right and the Rec Room is to the left.  Straight ahead (behind the wall) is the bathroom/laundry room.  Ultimately, we would like to move the laundry room upstairs, but for now it will remain down.

IMG_0630 Fireplace is staying – the brick and paneling are going.

IMG_0631 Other side of rec room.  Still got those old pink couches, but I’m not sure they are going to survive 2011.

IMG_0635Laundry doesn’t stop for a remodel.  We sold our old washer/dryer with the old house, but got lucky that a friend happened to have a pair in his garage!  (Thank you, Frank!)

We are so excited to start this process.  We’ll keep you updated along the way.

  1. Team Ox can do this, and do this with a baseball in one hand and a bat in the other. GO TEAM OX !
Give Frank and Family a big hug for these wash/dryer machines. Old technology exceeds new green low energy technology big time. Grammie, Grampie and the park invested $8,000 in new "energy efficient" large machines. You know, the low water consumption variety. What a nightmare - just try getting that mildew smell out of the towels you left an hour in the washer before sending to the dryer. What you do is start over, rewash, use more water, and try not to forget to get out of there immediately the second time around. Every so often you also put a gallon of vinegar through the machines and use more water to get that smell out of the equipment. Frank, do you have a couple dozen more of these in your garage? Hugs "y'alls" from the Perrinites in the Lone Star State.
